1 . Describe several of the functions of the paired antennae.

Smell, taste, perceive humidity and temperature, feel, monitor gravity, detect flight speed, detect sound waves (vibrations)

2 . Describe the 4 parts of the bee’s mouthparts and the function of each Labrum.

Outermost and serves like the upper lip as a protective shield for the mouthparts Mandible - “jaws” move laterally and are mainly used to manipulate wax or for defense Maxilla - Fold together to support the tongue or proboscis Labium or proboscis – tubed tongue
